One month after mobile applications developers gathered at the first-ever Verizon Developer Community (VDC) Conference, Verizon Wireless said today that more than 1,000 developers have registered to become part of the VDC. Registration is ongoing at http://developer.verizon.com, and hundreds of developers continue to sign up each week.
Verizon created the community to help developers bring mobile applications to market and address developer demands for speed and transparency. Verizon recently added the simple, click-through agreement to its developer portal so developers can begin to quickly and easily submit application concepts and start the path to market for their applications.
Submit Apps to Apply Your Ideas Contest by Sept. 20
Verizon’s Apply Your Ideas contest – designed to spur development of the freshest and most appealing applications for smartphone customers – continues through Sept. 20. Developers can submit applications in one or more of five categories – Connect, Entertain, Guide, Save Time, and Enhance Living – each of which highlights the wide range of activities, information, entertainment and other cool things developers can bring to mobile phones. Verizon encourages developers who have been creating apps for other platforms such as Java, BREW, Android, Windows Mobile and others to enter the Apply Your Ideas contest.
