The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is in the lime light for the moment, but a touchscreen N-series device will be hot on the heels of the Christmas launch.  Devinder Kishore, director of Marketing for Nokia India, was quoted at a recent event in New Delhi saying that the Finnish company “will have a lot of touchscreen phones coming up, including an N-series device very soon”. The handset is expected to be announced this year and will hit markets in early 2009.

This is the type of news that makes those of us not in the 7 markets launching the 5800 XpressMusic this Christmas a little more forgiving.  The N-series is the bread and butter of Nokia’s lineup and a more powerful device might be exactly what the doctor ordered.  We’ll definitely consider passing on the 5800 XpressMusic if we can get some preliminary specs on the N-series touchscreen device, who’s with us?
