Nokia N95-1 Firmware Update: Flash Lite 3 and Widget SupportWhen Nokia launched the first wave of it’s very successful Nokia N95 handsets (Nokia N95-1) it seemed that the device was doomed with a low amount of available program memory and sub-par GPS performance.  Thankfully, Nokia has not forgotten about those original N95 owners who took the plunge and paid the $700 premium to be one of the first to have the device in all of it’s 5 megapixel glory.  Nokia has gone ahead and launched V 21.0.016 RM-159 Nokia N95 (06.01) firmware update to the Nokia N95-1 Original Nokia N95 with added stability and performance boosts.  Beyond the stability of the N95 the two major improvements are Flash Lite 3 and S60 Widgets (web widgets).

The most amazing piece of information is that Nokia has been able to add both of these improvements without running into any issues from it’s lack of available program memory (multi-tasking memory).  This can be seen as a solid sign for the Symbian OS, by showing that it is fully capable of maximizing performance with limited assets.  It would nice if Windows Mobile was able to do this on the HTC S730 and HTC Mogul which both suffer from even less available Program Memory than the Nokia N95-1.

The new firmware for the Nokia N95-1 should be available in the next few days so get your PC data cable and drivers installed in the meantime and expect some new found love for your N95.
