Right on the heels of HTC’s announcement for the HTC Touch Pro comes O2 Germany announcing they would be launching the phone on their network.  O2 will be making a slight change to the Touch Pro similar to T-mobile Germany, but instead will launch the Touch Pro under the XDA brand name.  As with all the HTC devices launched on O2’s network, the XDA Diamond and XDA Touch Diamond will be joined by the XDA Touch Pro later this year.  In case you have missed the news on the HTC Raphael / T-mobile MDA Vario / HTC Touch Pro, we will give you a quick breakdown on the important specs.  For starters the Touch Pro is the keyboard version of the Touch Diamond we have been reporting on over the past few weeks.  The major differences outside of the physical keyboard are the additional battery capacity and larger dimensions.

O2 Germany launching HTC Touch Pro under XDA brand

Both the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro are powered by Qualcomm 528MHz processors and feature 512MB of ROM and 256MB of RAM.  With 3.2 megapixel auto-focusing cameras, VGA resolution 2.8 inch screens and TouchFLO 3D, there is little to not love about the HTC Touch Diamond and Touch Pro.  O2 has decided to make a slight change by including TomTom 7 which includes one free city map download.  As usual you can expect O2’s Touch Pro / Raphael to be SIM/network locked.  While neither a release date or a price was given by O2 today in their announcement, we can expect to see the O2 Raphael / Touch Pro landing in Germany under the XDA Touch Pro name later this Summer 2008.
