Vodafone has launched yet another promotion for its personal customers. This time, it will reimburse to subscribing customers ten times what they spend in national voice calls to the Vodafone mobile network in December.  The reimbursed amount can be used during the following 30 days on national voice calls to Vodafone mobile numbers. Alternatively, customers can opt to get back the amount spent in December on those calls, without multiplication, and will be able to spend it on any type of call and without any time limit.

Customers wishing to subscribe to either option under this promotion simply need to make a free call to 1275. The subscription cost is 3 euros.  With this promotion, Vodafone is once again offering its customers the opportunity to use its services on even more competitive terms at a time of year when calls are especially welcome. Initiatives of this type have been very well received by Vodafone customers, and reinforce their relationship with the brand.

Through the revolutionary SurePress touch-screen, the virtual keyboard on the BlackBerry Storm responds much like a physical keyboard. The touch-screen supports single-touch, multi-touch and gestures for intuitive and efficient navigation as well as easy and precise typing. It also features a built-in accelerometer, which automatically switches the display for use in landscape and portrait as the user rotates the handset. When in portrait mode, users can type out a quick instant message or dial a number using either RIM’s SureType® keyboard layout or a 12-key multi-tap keyboard. When the handset is rotated to landscape, the user is presented with a full QWERTZ keyboard.

The BlackBerry Storm smartphone brings images to life with stunning clarity through its gorgeous 3.25-inch, high resolution (480×360-pixels at 184 ppi), 65K colour display. A multimedia powerhouse, the BlackBerry Storm smartphone has a built in media player that handles a number of music formats. The BlackBerry Storm also has 1GB of onboard memory storage and a microSD/SDHD memory card slot that supports up to 16 GB of additional storage.

BlackBerry Storm users can also find their way in unfamiliar surroundings thanks to the Vodafone Navigator application and integrated GPS receiver. The 3.2 MP digital camera with autofocus and a powerful flash, complete the rich multimedia capabilities. Preloaded with an incredible selection of applications that were custom-built for use on BlackBerry® smartphones, the BlackBerry Storm enables users to simply and easily keep web community pages current, continue instant message chats or even add pictures directly to Flickr™.

The BlackBerry Storm is available from EUR 1 on a 24 month term contract from Vodafone. Vodafone has introduced three special data tariff options for the BlackBerry Storm which are optimised for email and Internet usage.

Vodafone customers have the choice of a range of flat rate services and additional monthly packages that range from EUR 2.95 and EUR 24.95. There’s an Internet messaging tariff option to satisfy all user requirements and if the customer isn’t sure about which option to choose, they can use the Vodafone InternetMessaging StartAutomatik service for 30 days to send and receive emails, surf the net and send up to 500 text messages to all German networks free of charge. Following this trial, Vodafone can determine the Internet Messaging tariff option that is most suitable for the user’s needs and inform the customer about the best tariff option to suit their needs by text message. The customer then has four weeks to decide whether to keep the tariff option or switch over to another one.

On December 1st, Vodafone Australia will launch the BlackBerry Storm free on the company’s Internet Data Cap plans from $69 per month on 2-year service agreements.  Unfortunately those unlimited data plans will have a bit of fine print that might hinder your browsing habits.  According to Cnet Australia, Vodafone’s unlimited data is only available when used through the native BlackBerry Browser and does not include video streaming or large file downloads.

So what happens if I want to use data outside of the BlackBerry Browser?  Well here is where things get hairy, according to Vodafone’s PR those customers looking to access data outside these terms of use will be charged $0.50 per megabyte, or can opt to take a 100MB data plan for an additional $9.95 per month.  If you are still interested in taking the world by Storm in Australia December 1st, Vodafone is currently taking pre-registrations on their website with 8GB microSD cards included.
